The DSP56001 processes the 44.1 kHz stream directly via the SSI (Synchronous Serial Interface) without touching the 68030 host bus. Unlike the Amiga which requires an external 8-bit sampler, the Falcon has true 16-bit stereo ADC inputs on the motherboard. Requires 4MB ST-RAM and an RGB or VGA monitor. -- === Steve MacDonald === Dept of Electrical Engineering, Demon Internet Services UK "Marcus is not one man." Too bad Atari marketing was so incompetent that nobody bought the Falcon before they pulled out of the computer market. -- Dong-hyun Santos *PLONK* filter active for trolls. The SSI to DSP56001 architecture on the Falcon is magnificent. Zero CPU overhead during 50 kHz audio acquisition.
