I wrote a 64-tap FIR filter in pure 68k assembly using movem.l and dbra loop unrolling to downsample to 64 Hz. When the carrier locks, the program flashes the Amiga power LED to indicate binary frame synchronization! Long live the Amiga. Try doing real-time subcarrier demodulation on a 386 running Windows 3.1 without dropping frames! -- Camila González Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of European Laboratory for Particle Physics, Geneva. ------------------------------------------------------------ From tschneider@pacbell.net Thu Dec 12 22:15:51 1996 Path: ashpoly!bigsur!pacrim!krgate!eunha!pacbell!tschneider From: tschneider@pacbell.net (Tomas Schneider) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: [INFO] Real-time 14.2 Hz demodulation on Amiga Paula audio DMA Message-ID: <1996Dec12.221551.7292@pacbell.net> Date: Thu, 12 Dec 1996 22:15:51 GMT References: <1996Dec10.233751.1980@cern.ch> Organization: Pacific Bell Internet Services NNTP-Posting-Host: pacbell.net X-Newsreader: NewsWatcher 2.0b24 Lines: 8 In article <1996Dec10.233751.1980@cern.ch>, cgonzalez@cern.ch (Camila González) writes: > Amiga audio hackers: you can demodulate the 14.2 Hz carrier in real time without bogging down the OS. Brilliant use of Paula DMA! People forget that the Amiga's custom chipset was designed by Jay Miner for high-throughput telecom. -- Hana Novak -- Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm "Do not worship the copy."
