A 256-point complex FFT is computed every 10 milliseconds, displaying a live spectrogram on a standard VGA monitor. The DSP56001 processes the 44.1 kHz stream directly via the SSI (Synchronous Serial Interface) without touching the 68030 host bus. Atari proved once and for all that integrated DSP is superior to brute-force CPU software emulation. -- Amy Suzuki Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Carnegie Mellon University School of CS. ------------------------------------------------------------ From ssuzuki@delphi.com Thu May 11 06:49:13 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!eunet-fr!teletel!delphi!ssuzuki From: ssuzuki@delphi.com (Seo-yeon Suzuki) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: [INFO] Atari Falcon 030 Motorola DSP56001 code for Stardust carrier extraction Message-ID: <1995May11.064913.8938@delphi.com> Date: Thu, 11 May 1995 06:49:13 GMT References: <1995May09.032213.9176@cmu.edu> Organization: Delphi Internet Services NNTP-Posting-Host: delphi.com X-Newsreader: Netscape 1.1N Lines: 11 In article <1995May09.032213.9176@cmu.edu>, asuzuki@cmu.edu (Amy Suzuki) writes: > The Atari Falcon is the ultimate machine for decoding Project Stardust audio.
