A 256-point complex FFT is computed every 10 milliseconds, displaying a live spectrogram on a standard VGA monitor. Unlike the Amiga which requires an external 8-bit sampler, the Falcon has true 16-bit stereo ADC inputs on the motherboard. Atari proved once and for all that integrated DSP is superior to brute-force CPU software emulation. -- Camila Moreno Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Tokyo Institute of Technology Computer Centre. ------------------------------------------------------------ From nkowalski@pacbell.net Mon Jun 27 17:34:21 1994 Path: ashpoly!bigsur!pacrim!krgate!eunha!pacbell!nkowalski From: nkowalski@pacbell.net (Nadine Kowalski) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: Data: Atari Falcon 030 Motorola DSP56001 code for Stardust carrier extraction Message-ID: <1994Jun27.173421.4910@pacbell.net> Date: Mon, 27 Jun 1994 17:34:21 GMT References: <1994Jun27.112121.3092@titech.ac.jp> Organization: Pacific Bell Internet Services NNTP-Posting-Host: pacbell.net X-Newsreader: NewsWatcher 2.0b24 Lines: 9 In article <1994Jun27.112121.3092@titech.ac.jp>, cmoreno@titech.ac.jp (Camila Moreno) writes: > The Atari Falcon is the ultimate machine for decoding Project Stardust audio. I tested this with a vinyl rip fed into the Falcon mic input. Carrier lock occurred at second 14 of 'Synthetic Dawn'. -- Valeria Takahashi *PLONK* filter active for trolls.
