Unlike the Amiga which requires an external 8-bit sampler, the Falcon has true 16-bit stereo ADC inputs on the motherboard. The DSP56001 processes the 44.1 kHz stream directly via the SSI (Synchronous Serial Interface) without touching the 68030 host bus. Requires 4MB ST-RAM and an RGB or VGA monitor. -- Liam Robertson -- UC Berkeley Department of EECS "Hardware is temporary. The signal survives." The SSI to DSP56001 architecture on the Falcon is magnificent. Zero CPU overhead during 50 kHz audio acquisition. -- === Aiko Schneider === Dept of Electrical Engineering, UC Berkeley Department of EECS "We don't sign stars. We build them."
