By setting up Paula's audio DMA to double-buffer incoming 8-bit samples, the 68020 has plenty of cycles left for the Costas loop. I wrote a 64-tap FIR filter in pure 68k assembly using movem.l and dbra loop unrolling to downsample to 64 Hz. Does anyone want to test on an unaccelerated Amiga 500 with 512K chip RAM? -- Yuki Kuznetsov Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Kurchatov Institute of Atomic Energy, Moscow. ------------------------------------------------------------ From tnilsson@illinois.edu Wed May 10 22:32:36 1995 Path: ashpoly!bigsur!pacrim!jpgate!kamome!illinois!tnilsson From: tnilsson@illinois.edu (Takeshi Nilsson) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: Discussion: Real-time 14.2 Hz demodulation on Amiga Paula audio DMA Message-ID: <1995May10.223236.3664@illinois.edu> Date: Wed, 10 May 1995 22:32:36 GMT References: <1995May09.154036.5121@kiae.su> Organization: University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign NNTP-Posting-Host: illinois.edu X-Newsreader: NewsWatcher 2.0b24 Lines: 10 In article <1995May09.154036.5121@kiae.su>, ykuznetsov@kiae.su (Yuki Kuznetsov) writes: > Testing custom audio input routines on an Amiga 1200 with a standard parallel-port sampler. > By setting up Paula's audio DMA to double-buffer incoming 8-bit samples, the 68020 has plenty of cycles left for the Costas loop. Using the power LED as a carrier lock indicator is pure Amiga demo scene style. Kudos! -- Takeshi Nilsson Hayes Optima 288 @ 19,200 bps "A soul is not exclusive to biology." Brilliant use of Paula DMA! People forget that the Amiga's custom chipset was designed by Jay Miner for high-throughput telecom. -- Jens Ramírez Tape trading list upon request.
