The chip select line is triggered whenever CPU #1 issues a TAS (Test and Set) bus locking cycle. Without U14, the board can track the 14.2 Hz carrier, but cannot descramble the binary payload of Nodes 11 through 14. Does anyone have a 27C256 EPROM marked 'MH-U14' or 'ORION-CRYPTO'? -- Jen Rodríguez Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Purdue University Engineering Computer Network. ------------------------------------------------------------ From spopov@mit.edu Mon Dec 23 15:09:08 1996 Path: ashpoly!cascade!brgate!saturno!mit!spopov From: spopov@mit.edu (Seo-yeon Popov) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: Data: Disassembling socket U14 firmware on the TWIN-68 board Message-ID: <1996Dec23.150908.5639@mit.edu> Date: Mon, 23 Dec 1996 15:09:08 GMT References: <1996Dec23.025008.2496@purdue.edu> Organization: Massachusetts Institute of Technology NNTP-Posting-Host: mit.edu X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 9 In article <1996Dec23.025008.2496@purdue.edu>, jrodriguez@purdue.edu (Jen Rodríguez) writes: > Tracing the address decoder lines on the motherboard reveals what was supposed to be in socket U14.
