Disassembling ROM #0 reveals an initialization routine that checks for a hardware dongle marked 'ORION-ENC-84'. CPU #0 handles host bus interfacing and DMA, while CPU #1 is dedicated entirely to a 16-bit MAC (multiply-accumulate) unit. One 28-pin EPROM socket (labeled U14) is completely empty. What firmware was supposed to be in that socket? -- Tobias Müller Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of The Pipeline Internet Network. ------------------------------------------------------------ From sstewart@u-tokyo.ac.jp Wed Dec 28 21:12:51 1994 Path: ashpoly!cascade!brgate!saturno!u-tokyo!sstewart From: sstewart@u-tokyo.ac.jp (Steve Stewart) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: TWIN-68 Rev C coprocessor board - schematic analysis & EPROM dump Message-ID: <1994Dec28.211251.5847@u-tokyo.ac.jp> Date: Wed, 28 Dec 1994 21:12:51 GMT References: <1994Dec27.182851.4986@pipeline.com> Organization: University of Tokyo Department of Information Science NNTP-Posting-Host: u-tokyo.ac.jp X-Newsreader: Netscape 1.1N Lines: 8 In article <1994Dec27.182851.4986@pipeline.com>, tmuller@pipeline.com (Tobias Müller) writes: > Managed to dump the 27256 EPROMs from the TWIN-68 Rev C board recovered from Ashford Poly.
