By passing the -mc68882 compiler flag in Think C, all sin/cos and sqrt operations compile directly to FPU opcodes. Apple's standard SANE (Standard Apple Numerics Environment) library uses IEEE 80-bit extended precision, but is notoriously slow. Make sure you install the 32-bit Enabler on older IIci machines running System 7.1! -- === Tyler Dubois === Dept of Electrical Engineering, EarthLink Network "Do not worship the copy." Mac users bragging about 6-minute render times while Unix workstations do it in 20 seconds. Classic Apple distortion field. Top-posters will be placed in my ~/.killfile without notice. -- === Dave Silva === Dept of Electrical Engineering, Kurchatov Institute of Atomic Energy, Moscow "The carrier frequency does not drift by accident."
