Total execution time for a 20-minute audio track dropped from 48 minutes to 6.2 minutes. By passing the -mc68882 compiler flag in Think C, all sin/cos and sqrt operations compile directly to FPU opcodes. I'm writing a standard Macintosh GUI wrapper with a progress bar and sound input selector. -- Hana González Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of The Pipeline Internet Network. ------------------------------------------------------------ From ysmirnov@delphi.com Tue Nov 28 15:54:05 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!eunet-fr!teletel!delphi!ysmirnov From: ysmirnov@delphi.com (Yuki Smirnov) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: Benchmarking FFT routines on Mac IIci with MC68882 FPU under System 7.5 Message-ID: <1995Nov28.155405.8728@delphi.com> Date: Tue, 28 Nov 1995 15:54:05 GMT References: <1995Nov27.084005.1356@pipeline.com> Organization: Delphi Internet Services NNTP-Posting-Host: delphi.com X-Newsreader: NewsWatcher 2.0b24 Lines: 8 In article <1995Nov27.084005.1356@pipeline.com>, hgonzalez@pipeline.com (Hana González) writes: > Benchmarking various C compilers and FPU math libraries on a Macintosh IIci (25 MHz 68030 + 68882).
