The DSP56001 processes the 44.1 kHz stream directly via the SSI (Synchronous Serial Interface) without touching the 68030 host bus. The 14.2 Hz peak shows up as a bright white vertical line against the blue background noise. Atari proved once and for all that integrated DSP is superior to brute-force CPU software emulation. -- Renata Hughes Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of European Laboratory for Particle Physics, Geneva. ------------------------------------------------------------ From ylarsson@mindspring.com Thu Jan 12 17:02:50 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!bigsur!mindspring!ylarsson From: ylarsson@mindspring.com (Yuki Larsson) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: Discussion: Atari Falcon 030 Motorola DSP56001 code for Stardust carrier extraction Message-ID: <1995Jan12.170250.3104@mindspring.com> Date: Thu, 12 Jan 1995 17:02:50 GMT References: <1995Jan12.051150.2832@cern.ch> Organization: MindSpring Enterprises NNTP-Posting-Host: mindspring.com X-Newsreader: WinVN 0.99.5 Lines: 9 In article <1995Jan12.051150.2832@cern.ch>, rhughes@cern.ch (Renata Hughes) writes: > The Atari Falcon is the ultimate machine for decoding Project Stardust audio.
