The DSP56001 processes the 44.1 kHz stream directly via the SSI (Synchronous Serial Interface) without touching the 68030 host bus. Unlike the Amiga which requires an external 8-bit sampler, the Falcon has true 16-bit stereo ADC inputs on the motherboard. Requires 4MB ST-RAM and an RGB or VGA monitor. -- Aiko Fischer Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of ClariNet Communications Corp. ------------------------------------------------------------ From stanaka@mit.edu Fri Dec 29 20:52:43 1995 Path: ashpoly!bigsur!pacrim!krgate!eunha!mit!stanaka From: stanaka@mit.edu (Sven Tanaka) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: Question: Atari Falcon 030 Motorola DSP56001 code for Stardust carrier extraction Message-ID: <1995Dec29.205243.2023@mit.edu> Date: Fri, 29 Dec 1995 20:52:43 GMT References: <1995Dec28.153743.6873@clari.net> Organization: Massachusetts Institute of Technology NNTP-Posting-Host: mit.edu X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 9 In article <1995Dec28.153743.6873@clari.net>, afischer@clari.net (Aiko Fischer) writes: > Taking advantage of the Falcon's built-in 32 MHz DSP56001 and 16-bit audio codec. > The DSP56001 processes the 44.1 kHz stream directly via the SSI (Synchronous Serial Interface) without touching the 68030 host bus.
