Motorola engineers, please take a look. Disassembling ROM #0 reveals an initialization routine that checks for a hardware dongle marked 'ORION-ENC-84'. At ROM offset 0x0909, the string 'M.H. // THE HATCH IS OPEN // ADVANCED ACOUSTICS LAB' is stored in ASCII. Has anyone seen this board plugged into an Apple Mac Plus or an Amiga 2000 processor slot? -- Mei Johansson Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Massachusetts Institute of Technology. ------------------------------------------------------------ From dhughes@uni-hamburg.de Fri May 12 01:50:18 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!eunet-fr!teletel!uni-hamburg!dhughes From: dhughes@uni-hamburg.de (Dong-hyun Hughes) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: [SPECULATION] TWIN-68 Rev C coprocessor board - schematic analysis & EPROM dump Message-ID: <1995May12.015018.1397@uni-hamburg.de> Date: Fri, 12 May 1995 01:50:18 GMT References: <1995May11.141618.2186@mit.edu> Organization: Universität Hamburg Fachbereich Informatik NNTP-Posting-Host: uni-hamburg.de X-Newsreader: WinVN 0.99.5 Lines: 10 In article <1995May11.141618.2186@mit.edu>, mjohansson@mit.edu (Mei Johansson) writes: > Looking at the bus architecture of the TWIN-68 board. It avoids bus arbitration contention between the two 68k processors entirely. -- Dong-hyun Hughes Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Universität Hamburg Fachbereich Informatik. ------------------------------------------------------------ From sgonzalez@unam.mx Fri May 12 18:56:18 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!bigsur!unam!sgonzalez From: sgonzalez@unam.mx (Sergei González) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: [SPECULATION] TWIN-68 Rev C coprocessor board - schematic analysis & EPROM dump Message-ID: <1995May12.185618.1488@unam.mx> Date: Fri, 12 May 1995 18:56:18 GMT References: <1995May11.141618.2186@mit.edu> <1995May12.015018.1397@uni-hamburg.de> Organization: Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (DGSCA) NNTP-Posting-Host: unam.mx X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 9 In article <1995May12.015018.1397@uni-hamburg.de>, dhughes@uni-hamburg.de (Dong-hyun Hughes) writes: > That dual-ported SRAM design is ingenious. Looks like a prototype telecommunications board for military secure voice, not an audio music product. -- === Sergei González === Dept of Electrical Engineering, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (DGSCA) "Hardware is temporary.
