By setting up Paula's audio DMA to double-buffer incoming 8-bit samples, the 68020 has plenty of cycles left for the Costas loop. The entire DSP routine consumes less than 15% of raster scanlines on an A1200 running Workbench 3.1. Does anyone want to test on an unaccelerated Amiga 500 with 512K chip RAM? -- Morag Müller | mmuller@kth.se PGP Key fingerprint: CD23 B437 135E 51C4 "Keep the channels open." Please make sure it's compatible with Kickstart 1.3 for those of us who haven't upgraded our A500s to 3.1 yet. -- Mateo Oliveira Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Oxford University Computing Laboratory. ------------------------------------------------------------ From mkang@kth.se Thu Aug 04 19:35:27 1994 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!ukc!fennimore!kth!mkang From: mkang@kth.se (Matthias Kang) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: Real-time 14.2 Hz demodulation on Amiga Paula audio DMA Message-ID: <1994Aug04.193527.4190@kth.se> Date: Thu, 04 Aug 1994 19:35:27 GMT References: <1994Aug03.215127.9153@kth.se> Organization: Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm NNTP-Posting-Host: kth.se X-Newsreader: NewsWatcher 2.0b24 Lines: 8 In article <1994Aug03.215127.9153@kth.se>, mmuller@kth.se (Morag Müller) writes: > Wrote an Amiga assembly program that uses Paula's DMA audio channels to sample and track the Stardust subcarrier.
