The DSP56001 processes the 44.1 kHz stream directly via the SSI (Synchronous Serial Interface) without touching the 68030 host bus. Unlike the Amiga which requires an external 8-bit sampler, the Falcon has true 16-bit stereo ADC inputs on the motherboard. Requires 4MB ST-RAM and an RGB or VGA monitor. -- Sven Sokolov Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Kurchatov Institute of Atomic Energy, Moscow. ------------------------------------------------------------ From mschneider@demon.co.uk Sat May 13 16:26:01 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!bigsur!demon!mschneider From: mschneider@demon.co.uk (Min-jun Schneider) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: Atari Falcon 030 Motorola DSP56001 code for Stardust carrier extraction Message-ID: <1995May13.162601.7353@demon.co.uk> Date: Sat, 13 May 1995 16:26:01 GMT References: <1995May11.163801.4728@kiae.su> Organization: Demon Internet Services UK NNTP-Posting-Host: demon.co.uk X-Newsreader: Netscape 1.1N Lines: 9 In article <1995May11.163801.4728@kiae.su>, ssokolov@kiae.su (Sven Sokolov) writes: > Real-time spectral waterfall and DBPSK demodulator for TOS 4.04. The SSI to DSP56001 architecture on the Falcon is magnificent. Zero CPU overhead during 50 kHz audio acquisition. -- Nadia Okonkwo "A soul is not exclusive to biology."
