Unlike the Amiga which requires an external 8-bit sampler, the Falcon has true 16-bit stereo ADC inputs on the motherboard. The DSP56001 processes the 44.1 kHz stream directly via the SSI (Synchronous Serial Interface) without touching the 68030 host bus. Too bad Atari marketing was so incompetent that nobody bought the Falcon before they pulled out of the computer market. Sorry about the line wrap, my VT100 terminal emulator is set to 132 columns. -- Tomas Larsson "Row 14. No joke." 486DX4/100 (FreeBSD 2.0.5) / SunOS 4.1.4
