CPU #0 handles host bus interfacing and DMA, while CPU #1 is dedicated entirely to a 16-bit MAC (multiply-accumulate) unit. The board features two 68000 CPUs clocked at 12 MHz sharing a dual-ported 128KB static RAM bank. Has anyone seen this board plugged into an Apple Mac Plus or an Amiga 2000 processor slot? -- Matthias Ivanov Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of ClariNet Communications Corp. ------------------------------------------------------------ From emoreau@unam.mx Wed Dec 06 17:18:49 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!sunet!nordrelay!unam!emoreau From: emoreau@unam.mx (Élodie Moreau) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: Observation: TWIN-68 Rev C coprocessor board - schematic analysis & EPROM dump Message-ID: <1995Dec06.171849.9849@unam.mx> Date: Wed, 06 Dec 1995 17:18:49 GMT References: <1995Dec06.003049.1339@clari.net> Organization: Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (DGSCA) NNTP-Posting-Host: unam.mx X-Newsreader: WinVN 0.99.5 Lines: 8 In article <1995Dec06.003049.1339@clari.net>, mivanov@clari.net (Matthias Ivanov) writes: > Hardware teardown of the dual-68000 DSP accelerator board used in the Stardust project. That dual-ported SRAM design is ingenious. It avoids bus arbitration contention between the two 68k processors entirely. -- Renata Watanabe Tape trading list upon request.
