When the carrier locks, the program flashes the Amiga power LED to indicate binary frame synchronization! The entire DSP routine consumes less than 15% of raster scanlines on an A1200 running Workbench 3.1. Long live the Amiga. Try doing real-time subcarrier demodulation on a 386 running Windows 3.1 without dropping frames! -- Mateo Choi Tape trading list upon request. SASE required for international mail. Brilliant use of Paula DMA! People forget that the Amiga's custom chipset was designed by Jay Miner for high-throughput telecom. -- Steve MacDonald Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Public Access Unix of New York. ------------------------------------------------------------ From mramirez@cern.ch Sat Jul 09 04:48:16 1994 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!eunet-de!hansebox!cern!mramirez From: mramirez@cern.ch (Mikhail Ramírez) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: WTB/WTT: Real-time 14.2 Hz demodulation on Amiga Paula audio DMA Message-ID: <1994Jul09.044816.2109@cern.ch> Date: Sat, 09 Jul 1994 04:48:16 GMT References: <1994Jul06.174616.3160@mit.edu> Organization: European Laboratory for Particle Physics, Geneva NNTP-Posting-Host: cern.ch X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 11 In article <1994Jul06.174616.3160@mit.edu>, mchoi@mit.edu (Mateo Choi) writes: > Wrote an Amiga assembly program that uses Paula's DMA audio channels to sample and track the Stardust subcarrier.
