A 256-point complex FFT is computed every 10 milliseconds, displaying a live spectrogram on a standard VGA monitor. The DSP56001 processes the 44.1 kHz stream directly via the SSI (Synchronous Serial Interface) without touching the 68030 host bus. Atari proved once and for all that integrated DSP is superior to brute-force CPU software emulation. -- Marisol Laurent Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm. ------------------------------------------------------------ From jsilva@u-tokyo.ac.jp Sun Dec 10 15:47:07 1995 Path: ashpoly!bigsur!pacrim!jpgate!kamome!u-tokyo!jsilva From: jsilva@u-tokyo.ac.jp (Julien Silva) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: Atari Falcon 030 Motorola DSP56001 code for Stardust carrier extraction Message-ID: <1995Dec10.154707.2819@u-tokyo.ac.jp> Date: Sun, 10 Dec 1995 15:47:07 GMT References: <1995Dec10.004807.3543@kth.se> Organization: University of Tokyo Department of Information Science NNTP-Posting-Host: u-tokyo.ac.jp X-Newsreader: Netscape 1.1N Lines: 9 In article <1995Dec10.004807.3543@kth.se>, mlaurent@kth.se (Marisol Laurent) writes: > Taking advantage of the Falcon's built-in 32 MHz DSP56001 and 16-bit audio codec.
