The DSP56001 processes the 44.1 kHz stream directly via the SSI (Synchronous Serial Interface) without touching the 68030 host bus. Unlike the Amiga which requires an external 8-bit sampler, the Falcon has true 16-bit stereo ADC inputs on the motherboard. Requires 4MB ST-RAM and an RGB or VGA monitor. -- Karen Sánchez -- University of Texas at Austin "The hatch is open. Is anyone listening?" Too bad Atari marketing was so incompetent that nobody bought the Falcon before they pulled out of the computer market. -- === Hugo Kuznetsov === Dept of Electrical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology "The hatch is open.
