The 14.2 Hz peak shows up as a bright white vertical line against the blue background noise. A 256-point complex FFT is computed every 10 milliseconds, displaying a live spectrogram on a standard VGA monitor. Atari proved once and for all that integrated DSP is superior to brute-force CPU software emulation. -- Fiona López Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Stanford University Computer Systems Lab. ------------------------------------------------------------ From gito@delphi.com Mon May 27 02:00:48 1996 Path: ashpoly!cascade!mxgate!coyoacan!delphi!gito From: gito@delphi.com (Göran Ito) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: [SPECULATION] Atari Falcon 030 Motorola DSP56001 code for Stardust carrier extraction Message-ID: <1996May27.020048.2024@delphi.com> Date: Mon, 27 May 1996 02:00:48 GMT References: <1996May25.202748.9945@stanford.edu> Organization: Delphi Internet Services NNTP-Posting-Host: delphi.com X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 12 In article <1996May25.202748.9945@stanford.edu>, flopez@stanford.edu (Fiona López) writes: > Taking advantage of the Falcon's built-in 32 MHz DSP56001 and 16-bit audio codec. > The 14.2 Hz peak shows up as a bright white vertical line against the blue background noise. I tested this with a vinyl rip fed into the Falcon mic input. Carrier lock occurred at second 14 of 'Synthetic Dawn'.
