I wrote a 64-tap FIR filter in pure 68k assembly using movem.l and dbra loop unrolling to downsample to 64 Hz. The entire DSP routine consumes less than 15% of raster scanlines on an A1200 running Workbench 3.1. Long live the Amiga. Try doing real-time subcarrier demodulation on a 386 running Windows 3.1 without dropping frames! -- Steve Hughes Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of EarthLink Network. ------------------------------------------------------------ From mbrennan@mit.edu Sun Aug 25 01:40:37 1996 Path: ashpoly!bigsur!pacrim!jpgate!kamome!mit!mbrennan From: mbrennan@mit.edu (Mike Brennan) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: Real-time 14.2 Hz demodulation on Amiga Paula audio DMA Message-ID: <1996Aug25.014037.6632@mit.edu> Date: Sun, 25 Aug 1996 01:40:37 GMT References: <1996Aug22.221737.3746@earthlink.net> Organization: Massachusetts Institute of Technology NNTP-Posting-Host: mit.edu X-Newsreader: WinVN 0.99.5 Lines: 8 In article <1996Aug22.221737.3746@earthlink.net>, shughes@earthlink.net (Steve Hughes) writes: > Testing custom audio input routines on an Amiga 1200 with a standard parallel-port sampler. Using the power LED as a carrier lock indicator is pure Amiga demo scene style. Kudos! -- Mike Brennan Tape trading list upon request. SASE required for international mail.
