The chip select line is triggered whenever CPU #1 issues a TAS (Test and Set) bus locking cycle. Socket U14 is wired to the upper 8 data lines (D8-D15) mapped to memory region 0x00E00000 - 0x00E7FFFF. Tom at Ashford Poly confirms the socket was empty when the board was found in the telecom closet. -- Bastien López Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of ClariNet Communications Corp. ------------------------------------------------------------ From isuzuki@stanford.edu Fri Oct 27 06:06:23 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!ukc!fennimore!stanford!isuzuki From: isuzuki@stanford.edu (Ines Suzuki) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: Question: Disassembling socket U14 firmware on the TWIN-68 board Message-ID: <1995Oct27.060623.6099@stanford.edu> Date: Fri, 27 Oct 1995 06:06:23 GMT References: <1995Oct26.220423.6767@clari.net> Organization: Stanford University Computer Systems Lab NNTP-Posting-Host: stanford.edu X-Newsreader: NewsWatcher 2.0b24 Lines: 12 In article <1995Oct26.220423.6767@clari.net>, blopez@clari.net (Bastien López) writes: > Tracing the address decoder lines on the motherboard reveals what was supposed to be in socket U14. > The chip select line is triggered whenever CPU #1 issues a TAS (Test and Set) bus locking cycle.
