Total execution time for a 20-minute audio track dropped from 48 minutes to 6.2 minutes. By passing the -mc68882 compiler flag in Think C, all sin/cos and sqrt operations compile directly to FPU opcodes. Anyone running this on a Quadra 840AV with the 68040? -- Jen Ito Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of EarthLink Network. ------------------------------------------------------------ From kmoreau@utexas.edu Tue Jul 25 08:34:41 1995 Path: ashpoly!bigsur!pacrim!krgate!eunha!utexas!kmoreau From: kmoreau@utexas.edu (Kirsty Moreau) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: Benchmarking FFT routines on Mac IIci with MC68882 FPU under System 7.5 Message-ID: <1995Jul25.083441.5638@utexas.edu> Date: Tue, 25 Jul 1995 08:34:41 GMT References: <1995Jul24.012541.1985@earthlink.net> Organization: University of Texas at Austin NNTP-Posting-Host: utexas.edu X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 9 In article <1995Jul24.012541.1985@earthlink.net>, jito@earthlink.net (Jen Ito) writes: > Can a 1989 Mac IIci decode a 40-minute LP in reasonable time? > Total execution time for a 20-minute audio track dropped from 48 minutes to 6.2 minutes.
