The 14.2 Hz peak shows up as a bright white vertical line against the blue background noise. The DSP56001 processes the 44.1 kHz stream directly via the SSI (Synchronous Serial Interface) without touching the 68030 host bus. The SSI to DSP56001 architecture on the Falcon is magnificent. Zero CPU overhead during 50 kHz audio acquisition. Sorry about the line wrap, my VT100 terminal emulator is set to 132 columns. -- Diego Rodríguez Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of The Pipeline Internet Network. ------------------------------------------------------------ From bsokolov@panix.com Fri Jun 30 07:16:47 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!bigsur!panix!bsokolov From: bsokolov@panix.com (Bruno Sokolov) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: [FLAME] Atari Falcon 030 Motorola DSP56001 code for Stardust carrier extraction Message-ID: <1995Jun30.071647.1817@panix.com> Date: Fri, 30 Jun 1995 07:16:47 GMT References: <1995Jun27.201847.3643@purdue.edu> <1995Jun28.093447.1140@pipeline.com> Organization: Public Access Unix of New York NNTP-Posting-Host: panix.com X-Newsreader: Netscape 1.1N Lines: 9 In article <1995Jun28.093447.1140@pipeline.com>, drodriguez@pipeline.com (Diego Rodríguez) writes: > The SSI to DSP56001 architecture on the Falcon is magnificent. Too bad Atari marketing was so incompetent that nobody bought the Falcon before they pulled out of the computer market. -- Bruno Sokolov Practical Peripherals 14.4 @ 14,400 bps "The carrier frequency does not drift by accident."
