Motorola engineers, please take a look. Disassembling ROM #0 reveals an initialization routine that checks for a hardware dongle marked 'ORION-ENC-84'. The board features two 68000 CPUs clocked at 12 MHz sharing a dual-ported 128KB static RAM bank. Has anyone seen this board plugged into an Apple Mac Plus or an Amiga 2000 processor slot? -- Sergei Schneider Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of UC Berkeley Department of EECS. ------------------------------------------------------------ From mduarte@clari.net Thu Feb 02 21:20:40 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!brgate!saturno!clari!mduarte From: mduarte@clari.net (Mike Duarte) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: Discussion: TWIN-68 Rev C coprocessor board - schematic analysis & EPROM dump Message-ID: <1995Feb02.212040.9819@clari.net> Date: Thu, 02 Feb 1995 21:20:40 GMT References: <1995Feb02.012240.8978@berkeley.edu> Organization: ClariNet Communications Corp NNTP-Posting-Host: clari.net X-Newsreader: Netscape 1.1N Lines: 10 In article <1995Feb02.012240.8978@berkeley.edu>, sschneider@berkeley.edu (Sergei Schneider) writes: > Looking at the bus architecture of the TWIN-68 board. Socket U14 was probably for the decryption key lookup table. Without that EPROM, CPU #1 is running in an idle loop. -- Mike Duarte Zyxel U-1496E @ 33,600 bps "In theory there is no difference between theory and practice."
