By setting up Paula's audio DMA to double-buffer incoming 8-bit samples, the 68020 has plenty of cycles left for the Costas loop. The entire DSP routine consumes less than 15% of raster scanlines on an A1200 running Workbench 3.1. Does anyone want to test on an unaccelerated Amiga 500 with 512K chip RAM? -- Freya García *PLONK* filter active for trolls. 486DX4/100 (FreeBSD 2.0.5) - NetBSD 1.0 From asato@hanse.de Sun Apr 23 11:38:42 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!sunet!nordrelay!hanse!asato From: asato@hanse.de (Anja Sato) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: [INFO] Real-time 14.2 Hz demodulation on Amiga Paula audio DMA Message-ID: <1995Apr23.113842.3046@hanse.de> Date: Sun, 23 Apr 1995 11:38:42 GMT References: <1995Apr22.064742.3280@netcom.com> Organization: Hanse-Netzwerk Hamburg NNTP-Posting-Host: hanse.de X-Newsreader: Netscape 1.1N Lines: 12 In article <1995Apr22.064742.3280@netcom.com>, fgarcia@netcom.com (Freya García) writes: > Testing custom audio input routines on an Amiga 1200 with a standard parallel-port sampler. > By setting up Paula's audio DMA to double-buffer incoming 8-bit samples, the 68020 has plenty of cycles left for the Costas loop. Tested on my A3000 / 25 MHz. Ran smoothly in the background while I was compiling a C program in another window. Top-posters will be placed in my ~/.killfile without notice. -- Anja Sato | asato@hanse.de PGP Key fingerprint: 2E26 35D4 AA70 08C2 "Keep the channels open."
