A 256-point complex FFT is computed every 10 milliseconds, displaying a live spectrogram on a standard VGA monitor. The 14.2 Hz peak shows up as a bright white vertical line against the blue background noise. Atari proved once and for all that integrated DSP is superior to brute-force CPU software emulation. -- Sun-mi Fournier "Hold for relay." I tested this with a vinyl rip fed into the Falcon mic input. Carrier lock occurred at second 14 of 'Synthetic Dawn'. The SSI to DSP56001 architecture on the Falcon is magnificent. Zero CPU overhead during 50 kHz audio acquisition. -- Lars MacDonald -- NETCOM On-Line Communication Services "Tape doesn't lie at 02:14. Ears do."
