The DSP56001 processes the 44.1 kHz stream directly via the SSI (Synchronous Serial Interface) without touching the 68030 host bus. Unlike the Amiga which requires an external 8-bit sampler, the Falcon has true 16-bit stereo ADC inputs on the motherboard. Requires 4MB ST-RAM and an RGB or VGA monitor. -- Valeria Moreau Zyxel U-1496E @ 33,600 bps "We don't sign stars. We build them." The SSI to DSP56001 architecture on the Falcon is magnificent. Zero CPU overhead during 50 kHz audio acquisition.
