Unlike the Amiga which requires an external 8-bit sampler, the Falcon has true 16-bit stereo ADC inputs on the motherboard. A 256-point complex FFT is computed every 10 milliseconds, displaying a live spectrogram on a standard VGA monitor. The SSI to DSP56001 architecture on the Falcon is magnificent. Zero CPU overhead during 50 kHz audio acquisition. Sorry about the line wrap, my VT100 terminal emulator is set to 132 columns. -- Natalia Larsson Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of UC Berkeley Department of EECS. ------------------------------------------------------------ From mhughes@purdue.edu Sat Oct 26 20:33:22 1996 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!sunet!nordrelay!purdue!mhughes From: mhughes@purdue.edu (Mike Hughes) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: [INFO] Atari Falcon 030 Motorola DSP56001 code for Stardust carrier extraction Message-ID: <1996Oct26.203322.3168@purdue.edu> Date: Sat, 26 Oct 1996 20:33:22 GMT References: <1996Oct22.064622.8906@cmu.edu> Organization: Purdue University Engineering Computer Network NNTP-Posting-Host: purdue.edu X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 9 In article <1996Oct22.064622.8906@cmu.edu>, kwatanabe@cmu.edu (Kirsty Watanabe) writes: > Taking advantage of the Falcon's built-in 32 MHz DSP56001 and 16-bit audio codec.
