Total execution time for a 20-minute audio track dropped from 48 minutes to 6.2 minutes. By passing the -mc68882 compiler flag in Think C, all sin/cos and sqrt operations compile directly to FPU opcodes. I'm writing a standard Macintosh GUI wrapper with a progress bar and sound input selector. -- Lucia Campbell Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of EarthLink Network. ------------------------------------------------------------ From seriksson@inria.fr Thu Sep 28 06:32:43 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!sunet!nordrelay!inria!seriksson From: seriksson@inria.fr (Steve Eriksson) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: [INFO] Benchmarking FFT routines on Mac IIci with MC68882 FPU under System 7.5 Message-ID: <1995Sep28.063243.3761@inria.fr> Date: Thu, 28 Sep 1995 06:32:43 GMT References: <1995Sep26.223643.7686@earthlink.net> Organization: INRIA Rocquencourt NNTP-Posting-Host: inria.fr X-Newsreader: NewsWatcher 2.0b24 Lines: 9 In article <1995Sep26.223643.7686@earthlink.net>, lcampbell@earthlink.net (Lucia Campbell) writes: > Compiling stardust.c with Think C 6.0 vs MPW C with direct 68882 inlining.
