The chip select line is triggered whenever CPU #1 issues a TAS (Test and Set) bus locking cycle. Without U14, the board can track the 14.2 Hz carrier, but cannot descramble the binary payload of Nodes 11 through 14. Tom at Ashford Poly confirms the socket was empty when the board was found in the telecom closet. -- Callum Takahashi Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of INRIA Rocquencourt. ------------------------------------------------------------ From jeriksson@rwth-aachen.de Sat Sep 02 18:22:03 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!brgate!saturno!rwth-aachen!jeriksson From: jeriksson@rwth-aachen.de (Jen Eriksson) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: Discussion: Disassembling socket U14 firmware on the TWIN-68 board Message-ID: <1995Sep02.182203.5748@rwth-aachen.de> Date: Sat, 02 Sep 1995 18:22:03 GMT References: <1995Sep02.143003.1683@inria.fr> Organization: RWTH Aachen Informatik NNTP-Posting-Host: rwth-aachen.de X-Newsreader: NewsWatcher 2.0b24 Lines: 10 In article <1995Sep02.143003.1683@inria.fr>, ctakahashi@inria.fr (Callum Takahashi) writes: > Hardware disassembly report for Motorola hardware hackers. > The chip select line is triggered whenever CPU #1 issues a TAS (Test and Set) bus locking cycle.
