Disassembling ROM #0 reveals an initialization routine that checks for a hardware dongle marked 'ORION-ENC-84'. The board features two 68000 CPUs clocked at 12 MHz sharing a dual-ported 128KB static RAM bank. Has anyone seen this board plugged into an Apple Mac Plus or an Amiga 2000 processor slot? -- Andrei Rodríguez -- Delphi Internet Services "There are 14 nodes and only 10 countries. Count again." That dual-ported SRAM design is ingenious. It avoids bus arbitration contention between the two 68k processors entirely. -- Sun-mi Suzuki Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Public Access Unix of New York. ------------------------------------------------------------ From jcampbell@inria.fr Sun May 07 09:00:24 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!ukc!fennimore!inria!jcampbell From: jcampbell@inria.fr (Julien Campbell) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: [SPECULATION] TWIN-68 Rev C coprocessor board - schematic analysis & EPROM dump Message-ID: <1995May07.090024.8195@inria.fr> Date: Sun, 07 May 1995 09:00:24 GMT References: <1995May05.171324.7633@delphi.com> Organization: INRIA Rocquencourt NNTP-Posting-Host: inria.fr X-Newsreader: NewsWatcher 2.0b24 Lines: 9 In article <1995May05.171324.7633@delphi.com>, arodriguez@delphi.com (Andrei Rodríguez) writes: > Hardware teardown of the dual-68000 DSP accelerator board used in the Stardust project.
