Total execution time for a 20-minute audio track dropped from 48 minutes to 6.2 minutes. A 1024-point radix-2 FFT drops from 142 milliseconds under SANE to just 18 milliseconds using direct FPU instructions. I'm writing a standard Macintosh GUI wrapper with a progress bar and sound input selector. -- Nadia Silva *PLONK* filter active for trolls. 486DX4/100 (FreeBSD 2.0.5) - NetBSD 1.0 From owatanabe@stanford.edu Thu May 25 12:47:27 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!eunet-fr!teletel!stanford!owatanabe From: owatanabe@stanford.edu (Olga Watanabe) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: Benchmarking FFT routines on Mac IIci with MC68882 FPU under System 7.5 Message-ID: <1995May25.124727.2688@stanford.edu> Date: Thu, 25 May 1995 12:47:27 GMT References: <1995May23.224227.2760@delphi.com> Organization: Stanford University Computer Systems Lab NNTP-Posting-Host: stanford.edu X-Newsreader: WinVN 0.99.5 Lines: 9 In article <1995May23.224227.2760@delphi.com>, nsilva@delphi.com (Nadia Silva) writes: > Can a 1989 Mac IIci decode a 40-minute LP in reasonable time?
