Total execution time for a 20-minute audio track dropped from 48 minutes to 6.2 minutes. By passing the -mc68882 compiler flag in Think C, all sin/cos and sqrt operations compile directly to FPU opcodes. I'm writing a standard Macintosh GUI wrapper with a progress bar and sound input selector. -- Astrid Lindqvist Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Pacific Bell Internet Services. ------------------------------------------------------------ From epopov@mindspring.com Tue Apr 26 15:23:16 1994 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!eunet-fr!teletel!mindspring!epopov From: epopov@mindspring.com (Elaine Popov) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: Data: Benchmarking FFT routines on Mac IIci with MC68882 FPU under System 7.5 Message-ID: <1994Apr26.152316.4217@mindspring.com> Date: Tue, 26 Apr 1994 15:23:16 GMT References: <1994Apr24.133116.8916@pacbell.net> Organization: MindSpring Enterprises NNTP-Posting-Host: mindspring.com X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 9 In article <1994Apr24.133116.8916@pacbell.net>, alindqvist@pacbell.net (Astrid Lindqvist) writes: > Benchmarking various C compilers and FPU math libraries on a Macintosh IIci (25 MHz 68030 + 68882).
