Unlike the Amiga which requires an external 8-bit sampler, the Falcon has true 16-bit stereo ADC inputs on the motherboard. The DSP56001 processes the 44.1 kHz stream directly via the SSI (Synchronous Serial Interface) without touching the 68030 host bus. Requires 4MB ST-RAM and an RGB or VGA monitor. -- Graham Ramírez US Robotics Courier V.34 @ ISDN 64k bps "A soul is not exclusive to biology." The SSI to DSP56001 architecture on the Falcon is magnificent. Zero CPU overhead during 50 kHz audio acquisition. -- Takeshi Schneider Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of RWTH Aachen Informatik. ------------------------------------------------------------ From jsilva@stanford.edu Sun Feb 13 00:00:14 1994 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!sunet!nordrelay!stanford!jsilva From: jsilva@stanford.edu (Joachim Silva) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: WTB/WTT: Atari Falcon 030 Motorola DSP56001 code for Stardust carrier extraction Message-ID: <1994Feb13.000014.3368@stanford.edu> Date: Sun, 13 Feb 1994 00:00:14 GMT References: <1994Feb10.091314.9701@panix.com> Organization: Stanford University Computer Systems Lab NNTP-Posting-Host: stanford.edu X-Newsreader: WinVN 0.99.5 Lines: 9 In article <1994Feb10.091314.9701@panix.com>, gramirez@panix.com (Graham Ramírez) writes: > The Atari Falcon is the ultimate machine for decoding Project Stardust audio.
