The board features two 68000 CPUs clocked at 12 MHz sharing a dual-ported 128KB static RAM bank. Disassembling ROM #0 reveals an initialization routine that checks for a hardware dongle marked 'ORION-ENC-84'. One 28-pin EPROM socket (labeled U14) is completely empty. That dual-ported SRAM design is ingenious. It avoids bus arbitration contention between the two 68k processors entirely. -- Emi Campbell Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of UUNET Technologies, Falls Church VA. ------------------------------------------------------------ From blindqvist@cmu.edu Wed Sep 13 04:22:02 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!brgate!saturno!cmu!blindqvist From: blindqvist@cmu.edu (Bill Lindqvist) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: [FLAME] TWIN-68 Rev C coprocessor board - schematic analysis & EPROM dump Message-ID: <1995Sep13.042202.5093@cmu.edu> Date: Wed, 13 Sep 1995 04:22:02 GMT References: <1995Sep12.180602.6190@inria.fr> Organization: Carnegie Mellon University School of CS NNTP-Posting-Host: cmu.edu X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 11 In article <1995Sep12.180602.6190@inria.fr>, amacdonald@inria.fr (Amy MacDonald) writes: > Managed to dump the 27256 EPROMs from the TWIN-68 Rev C board recovered from Ashford Poly. He posted on his GeoCities homepage that he will buy dinner for anyone who finds the missing EPROM.
