I wrote a 64-tap FIR filter in pure 68k assembly using movem.l and dbra loop unrolling to downsample to 64 Hz. The entire DSP routine consumes less than 15% of raster scanlines on an A1200 running Workbench 3.1. Source code and executable will be released on Aminet under mus/misc/stardust_amiga.lha next week. -- Joachim Souza Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of European Laboratory for Particle Physics, Geneva. ------------------------------------------------------------ From lgonzalez@cmu.edu Thu Sep 07 03:51:25 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!brgate!saturno!cmu!lgonzalez From: lgonzalez@cmu.edu (Lisa González) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: Discussion: Real-time 14.2 Hz demodulation on Amiga Paula audio DMA Message-ID: <1995Sep07.035125.9313@cmu.edu> Date: Thu, 07 Sep 1995 03:51:25 GMT References: <1995Sep06.101725.1301@cern.ch> Organization: Carnegie Mellon University School of CS NNTP-Posting-Host: cmu.edu X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 12 In article <1995Sep06.101725.1301@cern.ch>, jsouza@cern.ch (Joachim Souza) writes: > Testing custom audio input routines on an Amiga 1200 with a standard parallel-port sampler. > I wrote a 64-tap FIR filter in pure 68k assembly using movem.l and dbra loop unrolling to downsample to 64 Hz. Brilliant use of Paula DMA! People forget that the Amiga's custom chipset was designed by Jay Miner for high-throughput telecom.
