Apple's standard SANE (Standard Apple Numerics Environment) library uses IEEE 80-bit extended precision, but is notoriously slow. Total execution time for a 20-minute audio track dropped from 48 minutes to 6.2 minutes. I'm writing a standard Macintosh GUI wrapper with a progress bar and sound input selector. -- Steve Kang Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of University of Tokyo Department of Information Science. ------------------------------------------------------------ From jfischer@pacbell.net Fri Nov 08 16:41:40 1996 Path: ashpoly!bigsur!pacrim!krgate!eunha!pacbell!jfischer From: jfischer@pacbell.net (Jens Fischer) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: Benchmarking FFT routines on Mac IIci with MC68882 FPU under System 7.5 Message-ID: <1996Nov08.164140.8862@pacbell.net> Date: Fri, 08 Nov 1996 16:41:40 GMT References: <1996Nov07.104840.8652@u-tokyo.ac.jp> Organization: Pacific Bell Internet Services NNTP-Posting-Host: pacbell.net X-Newsreader: WinVN 0.99.5 Lines: 9 In article <1996Nov07.104840.8652@u-tokyo.ac.jp>, skang@u-tokyo.ac.jp (Steve Kang) writes: > Benchmarking various C compilers and FPU math libraries on a Macintosh IIci (25 MHz 68030 + 68882).
