Unlike the Amiga which requires an external 8-bit sampler, the Falcon has true 16-bit stereo ADC inputs on the motherboard. The DSP56001 processes the 44.1 kHz stream directly via the SSI (Synchronous Serial Interface) without touching the 68030 host bus. Requires 4MB ST-RAM and an RGB or VGA monitor. -- Julien Sokolov Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of University of Texas at Austin. ------------------------------------------------------------ From bkarlsson@stanford.edu Sat Apr 01 19:17:09 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!eunet-fi!relcom!kiae!stanford!bkarlsson From: bkarlsson@stanford.edu (Bill Karlsson) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: Data: Atari Falcon 030 Motorola DSP56001 code for Stardust carrier extraction Message-ID: <1995Apr01.191709.9343@stanford.edu> Date: Sat, 01 Apr 1995 19:17:09 GMT References: <1995Apr01.141909.3417@utexas.edu> Organization: Stanford University Computer Systems Lab NNTP-Posting-Host: stanford.edu X-Newsreader: Netscape 1.1N Lines: 12 In article <1995Apr01.141909.3417@utexas.edu>, jsokolov@utexas.edu (Julien Sokolov) writes: > The Atari Falcon is the ultimate machine for decoding Project Stardust audio. > Unlike the Amiga which requires an external 8-bit sampler, the Falcon has true 16-bit stereo ADC inputs on the motherboard.
