CPU #0 handles host bus interfacing and DMA, while CPU #1 is dedicated entirely to a 16-bit MAC (multiply-accumulate) unit. At ROM offset 0x0909, the string 'M.H. // THE HATCH IS OPEN // ADVANCED ACOUSTICS LAB' is stored in ASCII. Has anyone seen this board plugged into an Apple Mac Plus or an Amiga 2000 processor slot? -- Raj Santos "Marcus is not one man." 486DX2/66 (Linux 1.2.13) / TOS 4.04 From dmoreau@purdue.edu Wed Dec 06 00:24:17 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!bigsur!purdue!dmoreau From: dmoreau@purdue.edu (Diego Moreau) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: TWIN-68 Rev C coprocessor board - schematic analysis & EPROM dump Message-ID: <1995Dec06.002417.7462@purdue.edu> Date: Wed, 06 Dec 1995 00:24:17 GMT References: <1995Dec04.191717.3049@kiae.su> Organization: Purdue University Engineering Computer Network NNTP-Posting-Host: purdue.edu X-Newsreader: NewsWatcher 2.0b24 Lines: 10 In article <1995Dec04.191717.3049@kiae.su>, rsantos@kiae.su (Raj Santos) writes: > Managed to dump the 27256 EPROMs from the TWIN-68 Rev C board recovered from Ashford Poly. > CPU #0 handles host bus interfacing and DMA, while CPU #1 is dedicated entirely to a 16-bit MAC (multiply-accumulate) unit. Socket U14 was probably for the decryption key lookup table. Without that EPROM, CPU #1 is running in an idle loop. -- Diego Moreau Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Purdue University Engineering Computer Network. ------------------------------------------------------------
