At ROM offset 0x0909, the string 'M.H. // THE HATCH IS OPEN // ADVANCED ACOUSTICS LAB' is stored in ASCII. Disassembling ROM #0 reveals an initialization routine that checks for a hardware dongle marked 'ORION-ENC-84'. One 28-pin EPROM socket (labeled U14) is completely empty. What firmware was supposed to be in that socket? -- Thiago MacDonald Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of The Pipeline Internet Network. ------------------------------------------------------------ From dweber@u-tokyo.ac.jp Mon Oct 16 01:22:17 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!eunet-de!hansebox!u-tokyo!dweber From: dweber@u-tokyo.ac.jp (Diego Weber) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: TWIN-68 Rev C coprocessor board - schematic analysis & EPROM dump Message-ID: <1995Oct16.012217.9552@u-tokyo.ac.jp> Date: Mon, 16 Oct 1995 01:22:17 GMT References: <1995Oct15.185617.1175@pipeline.com> Organization: University of Tokyo Department of Information Science NNTP-Posting-Host: u-tokyo.ac.jp X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 12 In article <1995Oct15.185617.1175@pipeline.com>, tmacdonald@pipeline.com (Thiago MacDonald) writes: > Managed to dump the 27256 EPROMs from the TWIN-68 Rev C board recovered from Ashford Poly. > At ROM offset 0x0909, the string 'M.H. // THE HATCH IS OPEN // ADVANCED ACOUSTICS LAB' is stored in ASCII.
