Motorola engineers, please take a look. At ROM offset 0x0909, the string 'M.H. // THE HATCH IS OPEN // ADVANCED ACOUSTICS LAB' is stored in ASCII. The board features two 68000 CPUs clocked at 12 MHz sharing a dual-ported 128KB static RAM bank. One 28-pin EPROM socket (labeled U14) is completely empty. What firmware was supposed to be in that socket? -- Marta Tanaka Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of RWTH Aachen Informatik. ------------------------------------------------------------ From eweber@clari.net Sat Nov 30 17:51:11 1996 Path: ashpoly!cascade!mxgate!coyoacan!clari!eweber From: eweber@clari.net (Elaine Weber) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: Question: TWIN-68 Rev C coprocessor board - schematic analysis & EPROM dump Message-ID: <1996Nov30.175111.1655@clari.net> Date: Sat, 30 Nov 1996 17:51:11 GMT References: <1996Nov28.212011.1466@rwth-aachen.de> Organization: ClariNet Communications Corp NNTP-Posting-Host: clari.net X-Newsreader: WinVN 0.99.5 Lines: 9 In article <1996Nov28.212011.1466@rwth-aachen.de>, mtanaka@rwth-aachen.de (Marta Tanaka) writes: > Looking at the bus architecture of the TWIN-68 board. Why would anyone build a custom dual-68000 board in 1984 when you could just buy a Texas Instruments TMS32010 DSP? -- Elaine Weber -- ClariNet Communications Corp "Do not worship the copy."
