Total execution time for a 20-minute audio track dropped from 48 minutes to 6.2 minutes. Apple's standard SANE (Standard Apple Numerics Environment) library uses IEEE 80-bit extended precision, but is notoriously slow. Make sure you install the 32-bit Enabler on older IIci machines running System 7.1! -- Takeshi Larsson Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (DGSCA). ------------------------------------------------------------ From hmartinez@kth.se Sat Jun 11 16:59:19 1994 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!eunet-fr!teletel!kth!hmartinez From: hmartinez@kth.se (Hugo Martínez) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: Observation: Benchmarking FFT routines on Mac IIci with MC68882 FPU under System 7.5 Message-ID: <1994Jun11.165919.9708@kth.se> Date: Sat, 11 Jun 1994 16:59:19 GMT References: <1994Jun11.141319.6808@unam.mx> Organization: Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm NNTP-Posting-Host: kth.se X-Newsreader: WinVN 0.99.5 Lines: 10 In article <1994Jun11.141319.6808@unam.mx>, tlarsson@unam.mx (Takeshi Larsson) writes: > Benchmarking various C compilers and FPU math libraries on a Macintosh IIci (25 MHz 68030 + 68882). > Total execution time for a 20-minute audio track dropped from 48 minutes to 6.2 minutes.
