The 14.2 Hz peak shows up as a bright white vertical line against the blue background noise. The DSP56001 processes the 44.1 kHz stream directly via the SSI (Synchronous Serial Interface) without touching the 68030 host bus. Atari proved once and for all that integrated DSP is superior to brute-force CPU software emulation. -- Andrei Eriksson | aeriksson@stanford.edu PGP Key fingerprint: D66F 4C1E D3E0 3133 "Keep the channels open." I tested this with a vinyl rip fed into the Falcon mic input. Carrier lock occurred at second 14 of 'Synthetic Dawn'. Too bad Atari marketing was so incompetent that nobody bought the Falcon before they pulled out of the computer market. -- === Thiago Moreau === Dept of Electrical Engineering, UUNET Technologies, Falls Church VA "The hatch is open. Zero CPU overhead during 50 kHz audio acquisition. -- Anja Lindqvist Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Public Access Unix of New York. ------------------------------------------------------------
