Total execution time for a 20-minute audio track dropped from 48 minutes to 6.2 minutes. Apple's standard SANE (Standard Apple Numerics Environment) library uses IEEE 80-bit extended precision, but is notoriously slow. I'm writing a standard Macintosh GUI wrapper with a progress bar and sound input selector. -- Tyler Dubois *PLONK* filter active for trolls. 486DX4/100 (FreeBSD 2.0.5) - NetBSD 1.0 From slarsson@u-tokyo.ac.jp Tue Nov 21 06:09:43 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!eunet-de!hansebox!u-tokyo!slarsson From: slarsson@u-tokyo.ac.jp (Sun-mi Larsson) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: Question: Benchmarking FFT routines on Mac IIci with MC68882 FPU under System 7.5 Message-ID: <1995Nov21.060943.6113@u-tokyo.ac.jp> Date: Tue, 21 Nov 1995 06:09:43 GMT References: <1995Nov19.035343.2325@ox.ac.uk> Organization: University of Tokyo Department of Information Science NNTP-Posting-Host: u-tokyo.ac.jp X-Newsreader: WinVN 0.99.5 Lines: 11 In article <1995Nov19.035343.2325@ox.ac.uk>, tdubois@ox.ac.uk (Tyler Dubois) writes: > Can a 1989 Mac IIci decode a 40-minute LP in reasonable time?
