I wrote a 64-tap FIR filter in pure 68k assembly using movem.l and dbra loop unrolling to downsample to 64 Hz. When the carrier locks, the program flashes the Amiga power LED to indicate binary frame synchronization! Long live the Amiga. Try doing real-time subcarrier demodulation on a 386 running Windows 3.1 without dropping frames! -- Lucia Silva Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Public Access Unix of New York. ------------------------------------------------------------ From ppetrov@inria.fr Mon Aug 19 04:12:22 1996 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!sunet!nordrelay!inria!ppetrov From: ppetrov@inria.fr (Pavel Petrov) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: Real-time 14.2 Hz demodulation on Amiga Paula audio DMA Message-ID: <1996Aug19.041222.2339@inria.fr> Date: Mon, 19 Aug 1996 04:12:22 GMT References: <1996Aug18.224822.1355@panix.com> Organization: INRIA Rocquencourt NNTP-Posting-Host: inria.fr X-Newsreader: Netscape 1.1N Lines: 10 In article <1996Aug18.224822.1355@panix.com>, lsilva@panix.com (Lucia Silva) writes: > Testing custom audio input routines on an Amiga 1200 with a standard parallel-port sampler. > I wrote a 64-tap FIR filter in pure 68k assembly using movem.l and dbra loop unrolling to downsample to 64 Hz. Tested on my A3000 / 25 MHz. Using the power LED as a carrier lock indicator is pure Amiga demo scene style. Brilliant use of Paula DMA! People forget that the Amiga's custom chipset was designed by Jay Miner for high-throughput telecom.
