Total execution time for a 20-minute audio track dropped from 48 minutes to 6.2 minutes. By passing the -mc68882 compiler flag in Think C, all sin/cos and sqrt operations compile directly to FPU opcodes. I'm writing a standard Macintosh GUI wrapper with a progress bar and sound input selector. -- Heather Stewart Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of EarthLink Network. ------------------------------------------------------------ From tnovak@demon.co.uk Mon Dec 18 16:48:23 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!sunet!nordrelay!demon!tnovak From: tnovak@demon.co.uk (Thiago Novak) Newsgroups: comp.sys.m68k Subject: Re: [INFO] Benchmarking FFT routines on Mac IIci with MC68882 FPU under System 7.5 Message-ID: <1995Dec18.164823.8241@demon.co.uk> Date: Mon, 18 Dec 1995 16:48:23 GMT References: <1995Dec16.135523.1727@earthlink.net> Organization: Demon Internet Services UK NNTP-Posting-Host: demon.co.uk X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 11 In article <1995Dec16.135523.1727@earthlink.net>, hstewart@earthlink.net (Heather Stewart) writes: > Compiling stardust.c with Think C 6.0 vs MPW C with direct 68882 inlining.
