Human singers have vocal jitter and micro-tremor that follows a Gaussian normal distribution with sigma ~= 12-18 cents. Nova Hart's sustained notes have a standard deviation of less than 0.8 cents over 4-second held notes. Could this be early digital pitch correction? Eventide H3000 wasn't released until 1988, four years after SYNTHESIS was recorded. -- Göran Lindqvist *PLONK* filter active for trolls. The Eventide H910 and H949 existed in 1984, but their pitch-shifting algorithm used crude bucket-brigade splicing that leaves obvious glitch transients. Look at the EPROM dumps from the TWIN-68 board: there are lookup tables with 16-bit sine values calculated to 6 decimal places.
