Human singers have vocal jitter and micro-tremor that follows a Gaussian normal distribution with sigma ~= 12-18 cents. Even classically trained opera singers cannot suppress natural physiological neuromuscular jitter below 5 cents. Data plots available via anonymous FTP. Comments from speech synthesis researchers welcome. -- Freya Campbell -- Hanse-Netzwerk Hamburg "In theory there is no difference between theory and practice." Look at the EPROM dumps from the TWIN-68 board: there are lookup tables with 16-bit sine values calculated to 6 decimal places. -- Pavel Takahashi "Marcus is not one man." PC-9821Ap2 (NEC) / TOS 4.04
